VuzeVPN Review: One of the Best VPNs?

VuzeVPN is not the most famous VPN service, but it has 200 servers around the world, it supports 5 devices per license, so it makes sense to explore it more closely.

VuzeVPN review notes that the rating of the service is 4.9, this is partly due to prices that start at $2.95/month. Therefore, it is a very good option to protect your online privacy.

VuzeVPN is a fairly new virtual network service. Its name may be familiar to many users as it relates to the popular Vuze BitTorrent. Operator Azureus Software, Inc. shares very little information about the history of this VPN. So it is unclear how long it has been on the market. The oldest VuzeVPN review you can find on Google was published in 2020. So why should you trust a relatively unknown VPN if you could just go with the better known options?

While VuzeVPN may not be the strongest competitor on the market, it does have a lot of potential. VuzeVPN is the best VPN for many users. Why is that?

Windows support

At the moment, VuzeVPN is only available as a Windows app.

However, more products are in development. VuzeVPN for Mac, Linux, iOS and Android may be available sooner. The following products are also in development:

Support for other smart TVs and smart home devices is also under development. However, a significant disadvantage of VuzeVPN is that it does not have any extensions for Firefox, Opera or Edge.

Five simultaneous connections

You can connect this VPN to five devices at the same time with one account. This is more than enough to secure all the electronics that the average citizen owns.

If you need more simultaneous connections on multiple devices, you will have to buy additional subscriptions. VuzeVPN doesn't have a family plan yet. There is also no way to buy more slots to increase the five device limit.

Unlimited bandwidth

VuzeVPN does not limit the amount of data you can protect. If you wish, you can turn on the application around the clock.

Usually, there is no need to urgently hide your IP address and encrypt Internet traffic when connecting to your home network. After all, a VPN is most useful for keeping your device safe from insecure public networks.

But using a VPN at home can hide your online activity from your ISP. Web browsing, torrenting, streaming and gaming without a VPN allows your ISP to keep track of what you are doing.

Unlimited bandwidth services like VuzeVPN for Windows can help you avoid surveillance.

Prevent throttling

As mentioned, VuzeVPN can hide your online activity from your ISP. Thus, it is impossible to intentionally slow down your internet connection.

This is why using VuzeVPN can help you achieve consistent internet speeds. You can visit the sites you want, watch all day and play games as much as you want without worrying about throttling.

Danger button

The VuzeVPN PC app has an emergency shutdown switch. This feature makes your device disconnect when it loses its connection to the VPN service. This way, you don't accidentally lose your IP (Internet Protocol) and DNS (Domain Name System) queries until it reconnects.

We tested the VuzeVPN kill switch to see how effective it is at preventing traffic data leakage. When we intentionally disconnected our internet connection and reconnected to the network to see how it would react.

We tried to load the site to determine if our computer can access the Internet while VuzeVPN comes to life. If the site was able to load, we could check if there is an IP address and DNS leak.

But the VuzeVPN switch worked as intended.

The app didn't connect instantly. However, it successfully blocked internet access by setting up an encrypted tunnel to the last VPN server we used.

Advanced VuzeVPN Features

Autostart

You can configure VuzeVPN for Windows to initialize on startup. This way, you don't have to manually start it every time you turn on your computer.

It is not difficult to launch this application on your own. But I don’t think you will remember this task every session when you turn on your PC. If you forget to turn it on at least once, it could lead to an attacker compromising your device.

This feature is already enabled after installation and configuration. But just in case, double-check it in the settings.

Background application

Using this function, you can close the program without turning it off. VuzeVPN's ability to run in the background can help clear out screen clutter so you can more easily focus on what you are doing.

If you want to disable it, you can find it among the hidden applications on the Windows taskbar.

Automatic folding

You can configure the app to automatically disappear from the screen after you turn it on. It doesn't save much time, but it comes in handy when you're on a VuzeVPN Netflix session.

Automatic updates

At its sole discretion, Azureus Software, Inc. may from time to time and automatically initiate a VuzeVPN version update. You can manually check for app updates by going to settings.

VuzeVPN servers and locations

The VuzeVPN platform consists of over 200 servers in 49 countries and territories. More than half are in Europe. Twenty-seven locations on the VuzeVPN server list are located on the continent of Eurasia. About a quarter of all VuzeVPN servers are located in the Asia Pacific region.

VuzeVPN Speed

VuzeVPN claims to deliver amazing speeds. It didn't disappoint.

When we tested the app speed for this VuzeVPN review, we got the following results: PING 28 ms, Download 14.35 Mbps, Upload 0.84 Mbps

VuzeVPN Privacy & Jurisdiction

VuzeVPN is under US jurisdiction. Further VuzeVPN operates in the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Russia. Turkey and Russia welcome VPN providers.

While you are currently unable to connect to any VuzeVPN server in China, Hong Kong is part of the provider's network.

Despite the existing dangers in control of governments, you can generally protect your online privacy by using a VPN with no proxy logs policy.

VuzeVPN security and protocols

VuzeVPN uses AES 256-bit and 128-bit encryption. Both are impossible to break with today's computing power using brute force.

When it comes to tunneling protocols, VuzeVPN OpenVPN is the only option.

OpenVPN is the most popular protocol because of its versatility. It may not be the best at everything anymore, but it is a reliable tunneling protocol for:

  • torrent
  • streaming
  • private web browsing

When Azureus Software, Inc. will release other Vuze applications, OpenVPN won't be the only option for its users.

Other tunneling protocols are more suitable for mobile operating systems. We are confident that the IKEv2 (Internet Key Exchange v2) protocol will be used when the company releases its VuzeVPN apps for iOS and Android.

VuzeVPN and streaming services

This VPN can help you maximize streaming services while bypassing geographic restrictions. and access to libraries of blocked content.

Ease of use

VuzeVPN doesn't have the prettiest user interface. While it follows the generic VPN client design, its design looks dated.

The VuzeVPN server list is not organized in an organized manner. The order of the options is not alphabetical and does not depend on proximity. There are no speed icons either. There is no way to know which VPN servers are the fastest while connected.

Also, you can only select VPN servers by country. You won't be able to select one that is hosted in a city whose time zone matches the restricted content you want to unblock.

However, the server list has a very responsive search engine. You don't need to enter the entire country or territory name to get quality results.

VuzeVPN does an excellent job, but there are bugs in the application. ...

When we changed location, our masked IP and DNS addresses remained the same. We had to restart the VuzeVPN client every time we wanted to connect to servers in a new location.

Support

VuzeVPN support is only available through the form on the website. You don't need to sign up for a VuzeVPN trial or any paid plan to get a response from them. The customer support team advises that response times are 1 to 2 business days. Unfortunately, we had to send more questions and wait more or less a day for an answer each time.

Honestly, the VuzeVPN blog is a promising knowledge base. It has how-to articles, guides, and other interesting reading material.

There are 23 blog entries at the time of writing this VuzeVPN review. But we expect this content library to grow. The first post was published in December 2020. And in May 2021 alone, at least ten were added.

When a vendor's support team responds to a sufficient number of emails, the company can create an FAQ page. It can make life easier for new users.

VuzeVPN Review: Bottom Line

We have mixed feelings about VuzeVPN.

On the one hand, this VPN was constantly changing our location to prevent surveillance. In addition, he never allowed traffic data to leak under his control.

On the other hand, it's a shame that it is currently only available for Windows. In addition, it would be more convenient for us if Azureus Software, Inc. did not collect any personal information other than users' email addresses.

I also want to see more customer support options. At the time of writing this VuzeVPN review, there is only an online form. The site's content raised more questions than answers.

When it comes to usefulness, VuzeVPN is impressive. But its developers need to iron out the rough edges so that serious users looking for the best VPN for PC will see it as a viable server.
